Chicago Blackhawks' forward Tyler Johnson just can't catch a break. In his second game back after an extended absence, the veteran tweaked the same ankle that caused him to miss 20 games. Johnson did not take a shift in the third period of Chicago's 4-1 loss to the Vegas Golden Knights on Thursday.
The 32-year-old looked to be on the right track Tuesday against the Washington Capitals as he scored in his return to action.
But in Thursday's contest, Tyler Johnson played just 11:43 before exiting early. Blackhawks' head coach Luke Richardson said Johnson is experiencing soreness in his left ankle and will be questionable for Friday's game.
The Chicago Blackhawks have a quick turnaround as they visit the Minnesota Wild on Friday night. Puck drop is at 7 PM CT and the game will air on ESPN+/Hulu.
